Free webinars to offer teaching tips for caretakers of autistic children
By Staff Writer
The group Rethink Autism has announced that it will hold free web-based seminars that will address some of the important education techniques that should be used when treating children with autism.
The "webinar," which is titled Key Components of an Effective School-Based Autism Program, is designed for educators and parents. Events are slated for February 2 and February 8, and they can be accessed on RethinkAutism.com.
Leading experts in the field will share seven key components, which can serve as a framework for educators and parents to collaborate on the education of autistic children. Registration is required to take part in the webinars.
Rethink Autism's website also offers a curriculum that includes evidence-based lessons, more than 1,000 videos, parent and staff training modules, as well as assessment tools.
Although previous studies have reported that an average of one in 110 children in the U.S. have autism, a study in the journal Pediatrics reveals that about one in 91 kids between the ages of 3 and 17 live with the developmental disorder.
