Jungle-themed game designed to help children with emotional and behavioral disorders

A new game has been developed specifically to help families with children who have emotional and behavioral problems.

The game, titled Jungle Behavior, was created by a child development expert, and it is geared toward kids who suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional behavior or Asperger's syndrome, which is a form of autism. The game is suited for children ages four to 10, and parents are encouraged to participate and offer positive reinforcement.

Jungle Behavior comes with three sets of cards and a mat, and the game is intended to help kids perform everyday tasks, such as getting dressed and doing homework. The bright and colorful jungle theme of the activity is designed to keep children engaged.

The game can be played again and again because children with emotional and behavioral disorders typically learn better through repetition. Jungle Behavior's creator said that more than one child can play at one time, and she suggests that parents pick out the most relevant cards for their children.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that between 3 and 7 percent of school-aged children suffer from ADHD.
